Sea and Rocks, Ballydonegan Bay, West Cork

 © Ann Brien

One of my favourite places to holiday in Ireland is Allihies, Beara Peninsula, West Cork.  It was while hubby and I were enjoying one of our lengthy stays there during the autumn of 2010 that I took these photos. The weather was scorching hot with blue skies most days. Ballydonegan Bay, Allihies, West Cork. Taken October 2010.

Merrion Square Park, Dublin

© Ann Brien

My feeling is that Merrion Square Park is best viewed in the evening light and preferably, when nature obliges, after a rain shower. The light is amazing but sadly I'm afraid that my mobile phone camera, great as it is, cannot do justice to these precious moments in photography. Taken February and July 2011.

The Early Years (6)

© Ann Brien

Twelve years old in Ringsend Park, Dublin. Taken on a bitter cold January morning in 1963 by a neighbour (note the snow footprints and me blinded by the bright sunlight!). I particularly love this photograph as it shows the park I knew so well as a child before the erection of tennis courts and other sporting facilities.
